An Open Letter to Wimauma Community Development Corporation Friends and Advocates

For some of you, this is my first opportunity to introduce myself. As the new executive director of the Wimauma Community Development Corporation, I am honored to have the opportunity to work with you to make Wimauma a better place to live, work and prosper. Although I am new to the Wimauma community, I have nearly 30 years’ experience leading organizations that have helped transform the lives of children, families and communities.

Prior to joining the Wimauma Community Development Corporation, I served as director of operations for Neighborhood Housing Services of the Lehigh Valley in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. I’ve also spent nearly 15 years with the YMCA of the USA, serving as division director and branch executive in Milwaukee, as executive director in Honolulu and as CEO in Philadelphia. I am a strong believer in lifelong learning, which is why I hold three master’s degrees in Public Administration, Project Management and Human Resources Management from Keller School of Management of DeVry University in Naperville, Illinois.

The mission of the Wimauma Community Development Corporation is to create a healthy and vibrant community by engaging and empowering everyone. Please know that your opinions matter greatly to us.

In the coming months we’ll be hosting several opportunities to get involved and also to share your opinions with us. If you’re in the area, please stop by to say hello. It is my sincere hope that you’ll continue to stay engaged with us to create needed changes to ensure a brighter future for all Wimauma community members.

Sincerely,

Manuel Ayala
